Off-grid with peace of mind, self-sufficient green energy: Naton Energy’s 261kWh energy storage system powers a Romanian farm
Abstract
At a modern farm on the outskirts of Bucharest, the capital of Romania, an energy self-sufficiency revolution has been successfully achieved. Faced with the challenge of an off-grid location, Renac Power Energy deployed a 125kW/261kWh fully off-grid energy storage system. Centred around the ESS-261 commercial and industrial integrated energy storage cabinet and a 125kW PVS solar controller, the system has achieved energy self-sufficiency. Not only does it ensure the farm’s stable operation 24/7 throughout the year, but it also saves over 120,000 yuan in annual electricity costs, establishing itself as yet another successful model for off-grid applications in Europe.

Weak Power Supply: How Can Agriculture Thrive?
For commercial and industrial users in remote areas or regions with weak grid infrastructure, ‘difficulty in accessing electricity’ is a key bottleneck constraining development. This large-scale farm in Romania faced precisely this dilemma:
Absence of the grid: Located in a rural area, the public grid supply was unstable.
Reliance on diesel generators: Backup power from diesel generators is costly, noisy and requires complex maintenance.
Operational constraints: Unstable power supply limits the farm’s operations.
